A few weeks ago, I got the chance to meet up with Catherine’s in New York City and I must say I had a great time. I got the chance to enjoy a full day with Catherine’s as well as Misti from MistiMichelle.com. The whole day was full of excitements we worked-out and learned how to cook a delicious healthy meal.
We started our day at New York Pilates Bowery, in Manhattan. It was my first time ever doing Pilates so I was very nervous yet excited to see what it was all about. I felt ready and super comfortable in my full workout gear. I wore a Galaxy Top, Galaxy Jacket and Good Soles Keep The Pace Active Sneaker which were very comfortable and complimented my whole look perfectly.
I was dressed and ready for what the instructor wanted us to do. My whole entire body was used while doing the exercises and I LOVED it. I used the muscles in my body that I never used before and that made the class even more fun. We stretch our arms, our legs and did a lot of balancing which I don’t normally do when I go to the gym. It was such a great experience and the class was very informative the instructor taught us how to use our inner body to help us with our outer body strength. Pilates is something I don’t think I would have ever thought about doing on my own, so I was very happy I got the chance to do it and now that I've tried it, it wouldnt be my last. I would definitely recommend everyone to go to a Pilate’s class at least once in their life.
When I got the news we were going to be cooking something tasty and healthy for part 2 of our day I became super excited because I love to COOK!! We invaded Kola House which is marvelously designed; their décor was out of this world, please if you are ever in New York City go check them out. Everything was nice and not to mention their kitchen, it was heaven. Being in the large kitchen and cooking was literally the icing on the cake.
After a great morning of working out Misti and I were very hungry so cooking really sound like a great plan. The owner of Kerber Farm Nike Voulgaris was our cooking instructor who also brought all his famous spices directly from his farm for us to work with which made our food taste fabulous. He was so generous he gave us our very own Kerber set full of spices to have.
The menu for the day was a Squash soup, Grill seasoned chicken on a fresh green salad and for dessert was a slice of apple pie and ice cream. Sounds delicious huh? Well it was beyond tasty. After learning what we were going to make it was time start, after we washed our hands it was time to started cooking. We had such a blast pilling the skin off the squash; it was actually my first time making squash soup.
We then started on making the grill chicken salad, we seasoned the chicken using all of the Kerber spices.
While we were waiting for the food to finish cook we went back downstairs and waiting until Nick and Kola House put the finishing touches to our amazing lunch. For the second half of the day I went for a more casual yet chic look, because as you know it’s cold in New York City now. I decided to wear this cute Most-Loved Turtleneck; I actually really love wearing turtle necks. What typically love about this turtle neck is that the neck part was not tight around my neck which made it every comfortable to get on and to get off. I accessorized the turtle neck with Critter Trio Pin Set from Catherine. I really love wearing pins but I don’t seem to find them as much, I love how they bighting up my outfit. Let me tell you about these boots. First of all for a woman with large caves it’s very hard to find boots to fit, so when I found these Good Soles Autumn Night Boot I was grateful, they fit perfectly over my caves and they are very comfortable defiantly a must have. The last touch to my outfit was knee length Curvy Collection Linear Wrap Skirt. I knew this skirt would look nice on me as soon as I seen it on the website, I love the length and the way it fit on my curves.
I must say I had an amazing day in New York with Catherine's and Misti. Want to shop my looks, you can find them HERE!! Everything was great from start to finish. Learning a new way to exercise and learning how to make a tasty yet healthy lunch from scratch it was defiantly a perfect way to end that great day.
